Item 1)  Meeting Call To Order:
 
A) Roll Call:    Present –Battaglia, Barajas, Ford, Kattuah, Stipp

Item 3) Approve Minutes:
 
A)    Minutes For Regular Meeting of March 16, 2009
Motion to Approve: Ford   Second: Battaglia
 
B)    Minutes For Special Meeting of March 29, 2009
Motion to Approve: Ford   Second: Kattuah
      Vote: Battaglia, Ford, Kattuah, Stipp- aye    absent for vote: Barajas 
 
Item 4) Accounting:
 
A) Warrants:   Warrant Detail Sheet provided by General Manager Cerf via e-mail; Chairperson Kattuah inquired if the payment to Fire Agencies Self Insurance was for Worker’s Compensation.  General Manager Cerf explained that the payment for $970 was for the final audit.
 
B) Financials: No discussion at this time. 
 
Item 5) Audit Contract- The new fee will be $3,300 per year for a three contract. The fee for the annual audit with Jensen/Smith increased approximately $400. 
 
            Motion to approve contract with Jensen/Smith for three years: Kattuah  Second: Ford

Item 6) Chief’s Report
Captain Wendye Stuller reported on behalf of Cal Fire. She reported that the District would be getting a new battalion Chief that will be on loan from Cal Fire for one year.  The days that he will be at the station are Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.  It was also reported that engine 62 went in for service and that the water tender will be going in next for service.  The District should be coming of off the Amador Contract approximately May 18, 2009.
 
Item 7) General Manager’s Report
General Manager Cerf reported that Atwood Insurance came to the Station 62 for their audit.  They walked around the station and took pictures for the appraisal of the property.
 
 
 
 
Item 8) Station 63
 
A)      Status of Encroachment Permit: General Manager Cerf spoke with Judy at Yuba County.  The measurements and drawings for the permit were passed on to the engineering crew to verify and check measurements.  As of this meeting the General Manager had not heard from Yuba County if the permit was issued.  General Manager Cerf will call Judy at Yuba County this week.
 
B)      Alvarado Consulting- It was decided that the Station 63 committee would meet with Rich Alvarado first to discuss having him check on funds available for the construction of Station 63.
 
 
C)      Misc. Discussion- The property on Marysville Road needs to be weeded.  Director Barajas offered to clear the property.
 
D)      Initiate board action as deemed necessary- none at this time.
 
Item 9) Correspondence-None
 
Item 10) Board and Staff Members Report  
Director Stipp found an article in regards to firefighters and solar panels installed on homeowners roofs.  The article discussed how firefighters are unaware about how to handle a house on fire with solar panels, what the protocols are.  Director Stipp will provide the article to Captain Wendye Stuller.
